winding roads climbing up to 15200 feet

first touch of snow on the way

army camps on the way. no civilians stay here

state of roads on the way. they get destroyed because of the rough weather.

the last two kilometres to bumla is all nice and made up roads.

army bunkers on the way

bum la pass - indo china border

the blue flags at the background is the actual border between china and india. the building on the right is where people are made into groups and taken to the border. there the army guy explains about the bunkers present on the other side and how they are always watching us. the chinese dont understand why so many people come here. so they had objected to the large number of tourists coming to this place. so now they take us close to the border and show us around. no photography allowed.

every year five meetings are held in the red top building about any objections either side may have on the other on border conflicts.

parking for vehicles far away from the actual place.

 bunkers of the indian army

next stop sangetsar lake
first view of the sangetsar lake or madhuri lake
Created by falling rocks, boulders and trees in an earthquake, the Sangestar Tso lake (lake is called Tso in Tibetan) that featured Madhuri Dixit in the movie Koyla, as a result this lake is sometimes also called Madhuri lake.

in the background you can see the babamandir which is very highly regarded by the army. so climbed up to see what was there.
 entrance of the mandir

thats the altitude i climbed up to where the mandir was.

the above two were on either sides of the mandir.
after this  we get back to tawang to our hotel.
thats our driver to bumla and babloo in the background. very well behaved and good driver.
in the evening there is a light and sound show on the 1962 indo china war near the war memorial at their amphitheater. photography is not allowed of the video shown. so just a glimpse of the place below.
after the show we proceed to the tawang arts festival. there were many groups performing the local folk music and dances of arunachal and the north eastern states.
